Rank
When I think of rank while blogging of course the fact that my Google Page Rank has dropped from 4 to 2 in a week and that my Technorati Rank has dropped from the 200s to 38 in the last month are in the forefront… but I’ll leave that to Mo to talk about on The Mo Show this week.
Instead I’ll discuss interesting rank orders for my beloved city of NOLA
- Ranks #17 as Best city for singles.
- The port of New Orleans ranks 5th in the WORLD for trade.
- Ranks #1 in Travel and Leisure… gee, I wonder why?
- Unfortunately… ranks #8 for Dangerous Cities (but hey, Hartford, CT beat us for 7th place!)
- And, #50 for business… bring your money back to NOLA!

Nola ranks too high in the love of too many people not to come back even if it takes awhile longer than expected.
I signed Mr Linky early.
It’s good to have pride in your city! And I’m sure New Orleans will be back.
Happy MM!
If New Orleans ranks Number 17 in singles where are all these single women hiding? Or are they just hiding from me?
I am glad to have experienced NOLA in it’s heyday, I hope to do so again. Happy MM!
Although I’ve never been to New Orleans, from what photos I’ve seen (pre-Katrina) and what I’ve heard and read about it too over the years, I can’t imagine NOLA not coming through like the Phoenix but rising out of the water instead of ashes. Too much beauty, history, culture to have it go any other way I think!
Hotep! Great MM post. It is good to see strong New Orleans residents that are helping to make the comeback real…
My MM:Rank post goes back to a military theme, however, I continue to provide African American history insights as part of this weekly meme. I hope you enjoy it.
Nice way to use the word rank. Very well done indeed. Have a great MM.
Jamie~ I agree, it’s just taking too long! Only 40% of the population is back and therefore we have no workers!! Come back people!
Travis~ I ooze NOLA…
Thanks!
John~ Maybe they’re counting the college kids?? Or the gay population? Who knows…
Sheila~ We’ll be waiting for you!
Jeni~ Yes, she’s survived many things. It’s just taking so long to repair the damage that so many are staying where they planted roots. I cannot imagine not coming back. My family has been here since the 1700s! It’s a part of me.
Villager~ Thanks! I will have to stop by to visit… not tonight though, early meeting in the morning!
Sandee~ Thanks hon! Hope you had a great MM too
I suppose if I were really into paid posting and the like, I would be as ticked off as everyone else seems to be about page ranks. As it is, I’m just a humble blogger who doesn’t seek monetary compensation and all that geek stuff is Greek to me!
